Register now for DISCON2010

Here's an update for every Rotarian on our annual grand event, District Conference - DISCON2010.
Union Minister for HRD, Mr. Kapil Sibal shall be the chief guest at the inaugural of mega annual Rotary event, DISCON2010. A galaxy of prominent speakers are expected to touch the Rotarians and their families with inspiration, including some well-known celebrities who are being finalized for the Rotary Shreyas Awards.
Past Rotary International President Rtn. Glen Kinross would be representing the Rotary International President at the District Conference, and it would be a pleasure to listen to him and provide an insight into this year’s theme.
The pre-conference dinner on 17th December will be in the sprawling green lawns of Chandigarh Golf Academy (CGA) Range just behind the Sukhna Lake, with a famous singer to enliven the evening. Registration Fee for the dinner is Rs.500 per person only.
However, on 17th December, the District Leadership Seminar will be held from 3pm to 6pm. This would be a great learning opportunity for whosoever who wishes to carry the nuggets of leadership tips to use them in one’s business and profession, and of course, in Rotary.All past presidents & alumni of the leadership academy as well as those rotarians seeking to serve the district in future are expected to register.
The 18th December evening culture includes a very hilarious comedy, GHALIB IN NEW DELHI, which would be staged at Tagore Theatre itself, the Conference venue, immediately after the plenary session, and thereafter, everyone would drive down to the sylvan surroundings of Rock Garden, Phase 3, for an evening of fun, music, dance and dinner.
The highlight would the House of Friendship where you can share project ideas with Rotarians from other clubs in the District. There would also be commercial stalls showcasing some local handicrafts and other products that you may like to take home.
The venue for DISCON is recently refurbished city’s well-known air-conditioned auditorium, Tagore Theatre in Sector 18. Located in the heart of the city, ladies can just walk down the shopping area in Sector 17 or the Le Corbusier’s Centre in Sector 19, or many other areas of tourist delight.
The Registration for the Conference till November 15th is at Rs1200 single & Rs2200 couple and thereafter, registration would be Rs 1400 single & Rs 2500 couple without kit.
So please block your dates in advance and register yourself immediately to avoid disappointment.

Leh and Ladakh is already, feeling the cold. The 13 pre-fabricated houses are getting ready, so far we have received commitment for 9 shelters each costing 1.50 lakh.
