Volunteers needed for Medical Mission to Orissa

Our District 3080 along with the Rotarians from Matching Partner R.I. District 6200 (USA) is planning to hold a Mega Medical Camp in the tribal area of District Sambalpur, Orissa, from 24th March to 31st March 2009.

The medical team shall comprise of the following specialists:

  • Orthopedics Surgeons
  • Ophthalmology Surgeons
  • Plastic Surgeons
  • Gynecologist
  • Dental Surgeons
  • Anesthetist
  • Skin Specialists

The traveling, food & lodging expenses of the Doctors shall be borne by the District 3080. The team would also be requiring some Rotarian Volunteers who shall be spending for their own travel, food and lodging expenses.

Let's get going!

Application materials for 2010-11 Ambassadorial Scholarships, Rotary World Peace Fellowships, and Rotary Grants for University Teachers are now available from district scholarships subcommittee chairs.

Club presidents-elect should be registered for the presidents-elect training seminar. Incoming presidents, secretaries, treasurers, and committee chairs also should be registered for the district assembly.

Data forms for the 2009-10 Official Directory, due 31 December, are still being accepted. Clubs should immediately report their incoming officers using Member Access or by writing to data@rotary.org.

The Rotarian magazine is accepting submissions for its annual photo contest. Rotarians should send their photos from 2008-09 that best illustrate Service Above Self by 1 March. Find contest rules and submission guidelines at www.rotary.org.

Club presidents-elect should complete the club assessment section and draft annual goals in the Planning Guide for Effective Rotary Clubs. Presidents-elect and other incoming club leaders should further refine these goals at the district assembly, seek approval from the incoming board, and submit them to the assistant governor by 1 July.
